How to Build a Wardrobe Closet
Materials:
3/4inch plywood
1x2 pine boards
1x4 pine boards
1x6 pine boards
2inch wood screws
11/4inch wood screws
Wood glue
Nails
Hammer
Drill
Circular saw
Miter saw
Level
Measuring tape
Pencil
Instructions:
1. Plan the closet. Determine the size and location of the closet. Draw a plan on paper to scale.
2. Cut the plywood. Cut the plywood to the size of the closet walls.
3. Assemble the walls. Attach the plywood walls to the 1x2 pine boards using 2inch wood screws.
4. Install the shelves. Cut the 1x4 pine boards to the length of the shelves. Attach the shelves to the walls using 11/4inch wood screws.
5. Install the doors. Cut the 1x6 pine boards to the length of the doors. Attach the doors to the walls using hinges.
6. Finish the closet. Sand the closet and apply a finish of your choice.
Tips:Use a level to make sure the walls are plumb and the shelves are level.
Use wood glue to strengthen the joints.
Countersink the screws so they are flush with the surface.
Add a trim molding around the edges of the closet for a finished look.
